About Hare on the Goat

Thank you for stopping by our little corner of the world to see the best of two worlds. This is a mother daughter collaboration that started long before this website. We share a love for our furry friends and a fondness for their fibers.

Mother, Sue raises her angora goats in Summerville Or. Daughter, Molly has her angora rabbits is Hermiston, Or. We work together to better out animals, their care, and all that wonderful “hair” they give us.

 

"Mom in my book is certainly the animal healer.  She seems to bring out the good in any animal that comes to the farm.  The cat that is now on their place was at one time very weary (terrified) of dogs, for good reason, and now she so comfortable with them that she rubs up on them and has made herself a real pest to them.  I could tell of countless other stories like this.  After mom gets a hold of an animal they all lead much happier lives.  She is also one of the most conscientious people I know (my dad is another one).  She keeps accurate  records which means all of her animals are up to date.  She spends time and effort picking through wool to make it a delight to however receives it.  Be it animal or fiber my mom puts forth a great representation for angora goats." "Molly has always had a special love for animals.   She has a gentleness that people and creatures gravitate to.   We have always had animals as the kids were growing up, from chickens & guineas, to cows, horses, pigs, goats and the like.   Molly was raised around the animals and went outside in her stroller to "be" with the animals and when she was older she had her own to take care of.   Now that she is married and has kids of her own, she takes them out to be with the bunnies and horses, when its time to do chores.  Can't keep a good girl down.   Her love for her bunnies shows by the beautiful fiber they give her.  They meet her at the door of their home just to get a rub or a treat.  It's fun to have a web page together and do our fiber.  Watch for our wonderful blends, as well as pure angora and mohair"    Sue

 Both being creative and loving our animals we thought that we could benefit from each others talents. Mom and I really enjoy each others company and wish we lived closer together.  It has been fun to pool together on this, one of many common grounds, that we enjoy.
